As with most things it’s a full variation of the component parts of a movie that draws me in, from plot basis to poster art & trailers I need more than just the viewing of the finished film to feel fully engaged.
One of these components is 'Tag Lines' the films 'Slogan' that can often be seen on poster & cover art and more recently viral advertising, and of course spoken in a booming, gruff, masculine tone on trailers as a literal 'Sound-bite'.
It's purpose is to sell the film to us, laying out it's essence, mood and meaning, and making an immediate connection.
Of course the 'Tag Line' isn't always the perfect partner for a film and some movies don't have them at all but personally I think it's a brilliant marketing tool and so I've decided to share a few of my favourites with you…
